Towing on a regular road surface is one thing but doing it on a slippery terrain is quite another.
In this latest video, a Maruti Jimny is seen towing the last-gen Maruti Swift on snow. Now, Jimny is one of the most capable lightweight off-roading SUVs on the planet. In fact, its 3-door guise has been immensely successful in most corners of the world. To cater to the price-conscious Indian customers, the Indo-Japanese carmaker introduced the 5-door Jimny for the first time in its lifecycle. However, what is quite impressive is the fact that it didn’t lose its adventurous traits despite its elongated size. Let us take a look at the details of this case.
Maruti Jimny Tows Maruti Swift on Snow
The specifics of this instance stem courtesy of brh_expeditions on Instagram. The visuals capture a Jimny with a tough harness pulling the old-gen Swift. In fact, the text on the screen confirms that they are travelling to the highest village in the world. It is impressive to see the Jimny pulling the Swift relatively effortlessly despite the entire road surface covered in thick snow. Note that the old Swift weighed around 1,080 kg. Also, I must mention that it is not difficult to tow even larger cars on a normal road. However, towing a car when the surface is snow-covered and the journey has inclines and descents highlights the capabilities of the lightweight off-roader.
Maruti Jimny is a hardcore off-roading machine. It comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates a decent 103 PS and 134 Nm of peak power and torque. Performing the transmission duties is a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It comes with Suzuki’s trademark ALLGRIP PRO 4×4 drivetrain. That allows it to conquer even the most challenging terrains out there. Boosting its off-roading prowess are favourable approach, breakover and departure angles along with high ground clearance. The prices range from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 14.95 lakh, ex-showroom.

Now, this is a perfect case which demonstrates the capabilities of the popular Maruti Jimny. This also showcases why it has been among the best-selling lightweight off-roading machines internationally in the past 5 decades. What is even better is that there are enticing discounts and offers on the Jimny frequently. If you wish to get your hands on one, this might be the right time. Also, I would like to suggest our readers to never try such activities yourself. Things could turn very ugly very soon.
