The new Skoda Superb Sedan Mule was a virgin, not yet in production
Skoda is quietly working with the new generation of the flagship Superb, which will be closely associated with the next VW Passat in Europe. After seeing the Skoda Superb Combi mule in September 2021, our spy photographers shot a new one based on the Superb sedan this time.
The fact that Skoda uses the current Skoda Superb body with a slightly different design of the bumper with camouflaged front and rear ends should not convince us that they work with a different look. After all, the third generation of Superb was originally introduced in 2015 and received its mid-life update in 2019. Thus, under the body panels of the mule in the picture lies a completely new model that will arrive in 2023. .

Unlike the Passat, which is expected to become a liftback, the Skoda retains the taste of both the sedan and the Superb combo style. We expect that the largest model in the Skoda line will combine the new design language “Modern Solid”, which was announced last March, with a mysterious SUV. However, do not expect that this will be the most radical design of the Skoda range, as its customer base is very conservative.
Both the Skoda Superb and the VW Passat will be based on an advanced version of the MQB platform. They will be available with soft hybrid gasoline (eTSI), diesel (TDI) and switched hybrid power transmissions (eHybrid / iV), leaving a completely electric option for other models in the VW group. However, the improved efficiency of PHEV devices allows for an EV range of up to 62 miles (100 km), which is sufficient for the daily needs of most drivers.
We expect to know more about the fourth-generation Skoda Superb as we approach its debut in 2023, as prototypes in the production building may appear by the end of 2022. The model is manufactured at the plant of VW Group in Bratislava (Slovakia). , Next to the VW Passat.
