The premium MPV had already been spotted in India on multiple occasions even without camouflage
The upcoming new Kia Carnival is available for pre-launch bookings from today onwards with a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. Interested potential customers can either visit their nearest showrooms or the Kia website to confirm their bookings. Carnival belongs to a rather niche market segment in India. Still, it has been able to woo the buyers. In fact, the outgoing avatar has sold over 14,500 units which is quite impressive for a vehicle which costs over Rs 30 lakh. It will be interesting to see if the new Carnival is able to replicate that success.
New Kia Carnival Bookings Open
The new Kia Carnival will further elevate the sense of opulence and comfort with tons of modern-day amenities and the latest design language. Since it is already on sale in the international markets, we know how it will look. At the front, it will have the typical broad Tiger Nose grille, along with sleek LED DRLs which will cover a large part of the bonnet and encapsulate the LED headlamps. In fact, it even gets LED fog lamps on the lower section of the bumper. On the sides, there will be elegant alloy wheels, sliding doors, roof rails and side body cladding. The rear profile will offer a connected LED taillamp bar and a sporty bumper.
Apart from that, since it is a luxury MPV, the prime focus will be on the inside. The buyers will get top-notch materials for the cabin along with tons of modern connected amenities and convenience equipment. The main highlights include:
- 2nd Row Luxury Powered Relaxation Seats with Ventilation & Leg Support
- One Touch Smart Power Sliding Door & Tailgate
- Wide Electric Dual Sunroof
- 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System
- Dual Panoramic Curved Display – 12.3-inch CCNC Infotainment & 12.3-inch Instrument Cluster
- ADAS Level 2 with 23 Autonomous Features
- Front and Rear Dashcams
- Digital IRVM
- Head-up Display
- Ambient Lighting
- 19-inch Alloy Wheels
Our View
The new Kia Carnival will be a CBU, which means that the asking price might well be around the Rs 50 lakh mark. However, according to the demand, the Korean auto giant will consider local assembly which will reduce the price significantly. I don’t expect it to get any other engine than the one we experienced on the outgoing model. It is a 2.2-litre turbo diesel mill with automatic transmission. The official launch will take place on October 3, which is when all details will surface.
