Since the launch of the Toyota Sienna in 1998, the minivan market has changed dramatically, but the van has stood the test of time, even though competitors have left the segment.
Toyota is now celebrating the durability of the model with its 25th anniversary edition, which is limited to 2,525 units in the United States.
The 25th anniversary edition, based on the XSE finish, features a sky-silver or Wind Chill Pearl look with black accents and thick 20-inch wheels. The model also has automatic tinting mirrors with black markings and mirror caps, as well as roof rails and sconces.

Upon entering the salon, buyers will find heated and ventilated black leather front seats with silver contrast stitching. They will be equipped with illuminated door sills, special mats and second-row chairs with ottomans. The model is also equipped with the XSE Plus package, which includes a JBL premium audio system, GPS navigation, a smartphone wireless charger and a 1500 watt converter.
The Sienna 25th Anniversary Edition is offered with front and all-wheel drive, and buyers will receive an exclusive key fob cover with a “25th Anniversary” badge. While it’s hard to be happy about the key fob cover, the Sienna features a standard hybrid power unit with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a nickel-metal hydride battery and an electric motor. This setup gives the minivan 245 horsepower (183 kW / 248 PS) and integrated performance with an integrated fuel economy rating of up to 36 mph.
There don’t seem to be any other changes for 2023, but the Toyota Woodland Edition has confirmed the return. The crossover-inspired version has high clearance, as well as a standard all-wheel drive system.
As Sienna celebrated its 25th anniversary, it was not the company’s first van in America. This honor belongs to the Toyota Van, released in the 1980s and later released by Previa. However, it was not until Sienna arrived that Toyota struck gold.
Called the Camry Minivans, Sienna battled opponents in Detroit and surpassed them all except Chrysler Pacifica, a descendant of the once-famous Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan. Toyota has sold more than 2.2 million Sienna since its debut in 1997, making it the best-selling minivan in America last year with a market share of 35 percent.
