The first of these could be the Sierra.
Tata Motors Introduces Atlas Platform
This official video from Tata Motors Cars on YouTube highlights the major attractions of this architecture. It is designed to be scalable to support multiple body shapes and vehicle sizes. ATLAS refers to Adaptive Tech-Forward Lifestyle Architecture. The first thing mentioned in the video clip is the safety and build quality of this platform. It uses a continuous framework and multi-load path structure which ensure that during an undesirable occurrence, the load is evenly distributed among the stress members, keeping the occupants safe. Furthermore, the structure is rigid bulkhead based.
Also, the video animation depicts the strong nodal joints and stiff attachment points to ensure a strong structure. In terms of powertrains, the Atlas platform of Tata Motors will be able to accommodate petrol and diesel along with manual and automatic transmission configurations. It will even ensure a generous cabin space. This scalable platform will be able to support future technologies, aid ride and handling characteristics and offer the best-in-class safety. Finally, it will contain advanced electrical and electronic architecture. This includes an integrated cockpit-to-wheel controller to support multiple displays, a centralized body controller and over 24 PCUs. Hence, the future SUVs will be modern in every aspect.
