The Tata CURVV is slated for launch on August 7 in the electric guise followed by the petrol and diesel almost a month later.
Tata CURVV has been spotted reaching dealerships ahead of the launch. CURVV is a coupe SUV which will be the second ‘affordable’ product in this space after the Citroen Basalt. Until now, this body shape was strictly reserved for high-end premium vehicles. But Tata Motors wants the mass market buyers to experience this too. Hence, it will bear a road presence unlike any other vehicle. In our market, the CURVV will be positioned between the Nexon and Harrier. Let us take a look at the details here.
Tata CURVV Reaches Dealerships
This video stems from boby g on YouTube. The visuals capture the coupe SUV, wrapped in camouflage, entering what looks like a dealership stockyard. This is where the vehicles are parked before the launch. The rear section of the coupe SUV is evident in the video clip. We see the connected LED taillamps which cover the entire width of the bootlid, a silver skid plate which accentuates the sportiness, a unique roof-mounted spoiler and the trademark sloping roofline culminating into the bootlid almost like an integrated spoiler. Apart from that, there are squarish wheel arches, black side pillars, side skirting and rugged alloy wheels. It definitely carries an imposing and futuristic road presence.
Apart from that, we know that the interior of the CURVV will also be modern. This will include things like a large touchscreen infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster, a two-spoke steering wheel with illumination function, a new HVAC control panel, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, ADAS (perhaps), and much more. A key thing to remember with the Tata CURVV is that it will offer the buyers the option of choosing between electric, petrol and diesel variants. In the ICE guise, the buyers can select between manual or automatic transmission alternatives. Hence, the appeal of the vehicle is greatly enhanced.
Our View
Tata CURVV will be a unique product with ultra-modern looks and features. Ensuring relevance in the EV world, there will be the electric guise on offer and it will launch first. In India, the CURVV will be positioned above the mega-popular Nexon and below the Harrier. Hence, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, etc. However, what sets it apart will be its coupe silhouette. I feel many people will get drawn to that uniquely attractive design. Let us keep an eye out for all the details at the launch event.
