We have seen bizarre ways to protest by bike owners in the past and this is yet another addition to that unwanted list.

An Ola electric scooter owner had to resort to singing a song outside the dealership to register his complaint. Ola is the biggest Indian two-wheeler EV startup. It has been selling hundreds of thousands of electric scooters in our market. In fact, it unveiled its electric motorcycle last week. As the brand plans to expand its footprint into new verticals, there is the issue of customer satisfaction with the existing set of electric scooter owners. I have been reporting about such cases for a while now. Let us take a look at the details of the latest case.

Ola Electric Scooter Owner Sings Song in Outside Showroom

The specifics of this case emerge from the bhilai.sahar handle on Instagram. The visuals capture a man taking his Ola electric scooter to the showroom. Unfortunately, the EV is tied with ropes on the back of a bicycle rickshaw. It is evidently not in a working condition. However, the owner or someone accompanying the owner is singing Bollywood songs about disappointment while they are on their way to the Ola service centre. In fact, once they reach outside the Ola showroom, the man is seen singing loudly into a microphone. This is evidently due to the frustration the owner has with the product.

In all honestly, the exact reason for doing this is not mentioned in the video. But it is clear that the owner must be facing repeated problems with his electric scooter which is what explains the extensive display of agony. Also, this is not the first time an Ola scooter owner has demonstrated his anger over the EV publicly. I have reported a man tying his Ola scooter to a donkey to reach the service centre after facing several issues. Hence, this phenomenon is quite common.

Our View

Well, I would like to refrain from commenting on anything until I know the full details. Still, since this is not the first time something like this has transpired, all I can hope for is that Ola addresses these issues at the earliest so that its image doesn’t get tarnished further. Customer satisfaction and service is a critical aspect of growing any business. Therefore, Ola will need to ensure that it works on this side of the business if it wants to truly emerge as the top player in this space in times to come.
