Next-Gen Maruti Ignis Imagined – Looks Suave

RC Verma

Maruti Ignis has not been updated for a very long time and this virtual rendition gives us an option to visualize what a facelift could look like.

A prominent digital artist has developed a rather attractive iteration of the next-gen Maruti Ignis. The Ignis was launched in India in 2017. At the time, the trend of quirky small crossovers was not that prevalent. In fact, it was only in the last couple of years that micro SUVs like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3 have come into the mix. The Ignis has been due for a facelift for quite a while now. But it seems like there are not many plans for that. Hence, it becomes even more exciting to explore this digital version.

Next-Gen Maruti Ignis Imagined

This illustration arrives from malvinwsetiawan on Instagram. The visuals capture a distinctly modern avatar of the Ignis. At the front, it gets a rectangular grille section with pixel LED headlamps and LED DRLs on the sides. To be honest, this fascia reminds me of the Hyundai Exter slightly. Apart from that, the lower section contains a massive bumper and radiator grille section with tiny fog lamp units. Furthermore, there are LED DRL strips to make the fascia more modern. I particularly like the rugged bumper with matte black materials. The large Suzuki logo and LED strip around it complete the front section.

On the sides, this Ignis facelift gets notable squared-off wheel arches with black cladding. These encapsulate the elegant alloy wheels neatly. Also, the black door handles and side body cladding further elevate the adventurous appearance. Apart from that, this Ignis gets a black roof and roof rails along with black ORVMs with integrated LED turn indicators. In general, the side profile and the overall silhouette resemble the existing model. Hence, this next-gen Maruti Ignis is definitely something I would’ve loved to see in the flesh.

Our View

Maruti Suzuki has the Fronx in the crossover segment in our market. On top of that, the sales of the Ignis are not all that impressive. The competition in the Indian market has been extremely fierce in the last few years. I don’t see Maruti Suzuki announcing any reports about updating the current-gen Ignis. Hence, in due course of time, it will most likely be discontinued. Therefore, it becomes even more crucial to appreciate the imagination of the digital artist. This might be the only updated Ignis you will ever see.
