Digital artists have a knack for creating enticing iterations of regular cars and this is a prime example of that.

A prominent automobile artist has come up with this rather intriguing virtual illustration of the next-gen Hyundai Creta EV. We know that the Creta EV is being tested lately. It will be based on the current-gen Creta (ICE model). That is the trend a lot of carmakers follow. For instance, Tata Motors offers electric iterations of its ICE cars. It makes financial sense since car companies don’t need to invest heavily to develop EVs from scratch. Since this is a digital iteration, the artist has taken the liberty to flout the rules of design. Let us take a look at the details of this case.

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta EV Concept Imagined

This rendition stems from SRK Designs on YouTube. It is a popular design house which comes up with enticing avatars of regular cars. This time around, the artist imagines what the Creta EV will look like. The first thing I notice in this visualization is the resemblance with the Kona Electric. At the front, the sleek LED DRLs and headlamps on the bonnet along with the closed-off grille area remind me of the Kona to some extent. Apart from that, the sporty black elements towards the lower section elevate the rugged nature of the SUV. I also like the contours on the bonnet which give it a distinct character.

Moving down the sides, I appreciate the butch stance that the artist has given to this concept. Interestingly, it gets flush-fitting door handles for the front door and C-pillar-mounted handles for the rear ones. However, that frees up a lot of space on the door panels which contributes towards making it look sophisticated and minimalistic. The colossal wheel arches are hard to miss and the elegant dual-tone machined alloys fill these really well. Also, the sturdy roof rails and black side cladding accentuate its adventurous traits. At the rear, the roof-mounted spoiler looks massive and the sharp LED wraparound taillamps ooze modernity. All in all, this has to be among the most enticing visualizations of the Hyundai Creta EV I have seen.

Our View

Now the details pertaining to the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV are scarce. Still, I expect it to carry the fascia, body and entire demeanour of the regular ICE Creta. Sure, there will be some aesthetic tweaks to set the two apart. Also, it could carry the powertrain from the Kona Electric. We might get a 45 kWh battery pack with a range of around 450 km on a single charge. The power and torque figures could be in the vicinity of 138 hp and 255 Nm. More details will emerge as the launch event nears.
