The upcoming mid-size electric SUV from MG is looking promising with tons of enticing amenities to pamper the users.
MG Windsor EV will have the bragging rights to the largest touchscreen display in the segment. The Chinese-owned British carmaker has been releasing official teasers of the upcoming electric car announcing new features. Remember, MG already sells the Comet EV and ZS EV in our market. The former is the entry-level EV which flaunts the tag of being the most affordable EV in the country. On the other hand, the ZS EV offers premium features and has spawned the Creta-rivalling Astor mid-size SUV in the ICE variant. The Windsor EV will expand its electric portfolio even further. Here are the details.
MG Windsor EV Gets Largest Touchscreen
The official Instagram handle of mgmotorin announced this latest update via a reel. MG is calling it the GrandView Touch Display. The screen measures a whopping 15.6-inch which is larger than almost every car out there. Unlike other international carmakers, it is positioned in the landscape orientation. We have seen some car marques that offer ginormous screens in portrait orientation. But that is not the case with the upcoming electric crossover. It will be very much in the line of sight of the driver and the touch panel will be spacious to allow ease of operation.
The MG Windsor EV is looking promising in terms of the latest tech gadgets and gizmos. A few days ago, MG announced 135° reclining rear seats. That is also a segment-first. It will allow maximum comfort to the passengers when they are en route. In addition to these lounge seats, we can expect the cabin to be feature-rich including things like:
- Elegant and Stylish Door Panels
- Ambient Lighting
- Multiple Storage Spaces
- Wooden Inlays on Dashboard
- Wireless Charging
- Seamless AC Vents on the Dashboard
- Rear AC Vents
- Large Boot Capacity
- Gear Lever Mounted on Steering Wheel
- All Windows with One-Touch Up/Down Function
- 360-degree Camera (High Resolution)
- Powered Tailgate
The exact specifications have not been announced yet. However, we know that this model is on sale in the international market as Wuling Cloud EV. Hence, we can expect it to carry two battery packs – 37.9 kWh or 50.6 kWh. These can have range figures of 360 km and 460 km, respectively. The 7 kW AC charger will be standard. More details will emerge closer to the launch. But it is clear that the mid-size electric SUV space is bound to get exciting.
