The launch of the 5-door iteration of the Mahindra Thar is around the corner and Mahindra is dropping official teasers to create buzz.
The interior of the upcoming Mahindra Thar Roxx has been revealed via official teasers. Mahindra is great at creating buzz around its new launches. We saw this with the XUV700, Thar and Scorpio N. Now that the launch is slated for August 15, I am certain that we will keep getting new teasers. The Thar 5-door has been a long time coming. People are eagerly waiting for the more practical iteration of the 3-door Thar. Let us take a look at the details of what to expect.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Interior Revealed
This official video clip emerges from the Mahindra Thar channel on YouTube. It starts with the iconic vintage song “Inteha Hogyi Gayi Intezar Ki”. I appreciate the humour in this advertisement where Mahindra acknowledges that the 5-door iteration of the Thar took a long time coming. But immediately thereafter, we witness the swift glimpses of some modern-day amenities including a digital instrument cluster, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment display, physical buttons for HVAC, a large panoramic sunroof, perforated upholstery, dual-stitching on the dashboard, chrome surrounds on the AC vents, soft-touch materials on the dashboard, Harman Kardon music system, and Thar Roxx badging on the fender. This clearly indicates that it will be a feature-loaded off-roading SUV.
In terms of the specifications, the Mahindra Thar Roxx will be available in multiple trims. These include a 1.5-litre turbo diesel rear-wheel-drive, a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine. Buyers will get the option of choosing between manual and automatic transmissions. It goes without saying that the Thar Roxx will possess a sophisticated 4×4 drivetrain. Note that it will share the platform with the Scorpio N. Hence, the extended wheelbase will lend it a spacious interior and a large boot compartment. Hence, the shortcomings of the 3-door Thar will be remedied in the 5-door iteration.

Now, Mahindra Thar Roxx is a welcome SUV which was widely anticipated in our market. It gives a new spin to the existing legacy of the Thar moniker in India. With the Thar Roxx, the practicality and interior space have been enhanced significantly without compromising on the off-roading traits of the vehicle. To ensure that it is a family car, there is no shortage of premium amenities and the latest tech and convenience features. Therefore, I am intrigued to witness how well the customers receive this new Thar. Obviously, price could play a crucial role. I will share all the details once the launch occurs.
