Mahindra Scorpio N vs Thar Roxx Drag Race

RC Verma

YouTubers often adopt the method of drag race to compare the straight-line performances of two cars.

This drag race competition between the Mahindra Scorpio N and Thar Roxx is exciting. Both these are capable SUVs from the Indian auto giant. Thar Roxx is the latest entrant in our market. It is the elongated 5-door iteration of the 3-door Thar. However, it is not a mere larger Thar but also contains mechanical, in-cabin and aesthetic improvements. On the other hand, the Scorpio N is a potent SUV which combines off-roading capabilities and in-cabin comfort and convenience. Let us see how well these two compete against each other in a drag race.

This race comes to us courtesy of Rajni Chaudhary on YouTube. The prominent automobile vlogger is at an isolated location with the two Mahindra SUVs. For this race, she has got special drivers. On the count of three, the two drivers accelerate as hard as they possibly can. The initial surge of the Scorpio N is visibly more powerful than that of the Thar Roxx. This is expected since the Thar Roxx is a dedicated off-roading SUV and is not meant for quick drag races. Hence, it finishes behind the Scorpio N. The same trajectory followed in the second round. In total, out of 4 rounds, three were won by the Scorpio N to take home the title.

Our View

I have reported innumerable drag race events in recent times. These days, many YouTubers have been conducting such events. For some reason, these are extremely popular among the netizens. However, I must mention that it is a bad idea to simply imitate such YouTubers. They might take a lot of precautions behind the scenes to ensure their safety. Also, vehicles are not meant for such usage consistently. In the long run, such unnecessary stress on the engine could have severe consequences. Therefore, I urge our readers to never get involved in such activities yourself.
