The upcoming Maruti Dzire compact sedan has been spotted testing on multiple occasions in the last few months.
We are about to get the new Maruti Dzire in our market pretty soon. Dzire is among the highest-selling sedans in the country ever. The fact that it found appeal not just among private buyers, but also with commercial fleet operators ensured that it reigned the sales charts. We recently received the fourth generation Swift with a brand new engine and aesthetic modifications. Most of these amenities will make their way into the Dzire too. Until we receive the final production-ready model, we can relish the creativity of a digital artist.
New Maruti Dzire Concept
This post comes from Automotive88 on YouTube. The visuals capture a rather intriguing version of the new Dzire. At the front of this digital illustration, there are thoroughly redesigned projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a broad grille with a chrome frame surrounding it, a sporty bumper, a bonnet just like the latest Swift, prominent fog lamp housing with another set of LED DRLs and some sharp creases on the bonnet. Moving down the sides reveals the elegant set of alloy wheels and black side pillars.
In addition to that, the creases and contours on the door panels are minimal. Still, I like the subtle character line which starts from the fender and extends all the way back to the boot. With that, let us move to the tail section. One thing I found a bit odd about the rear profile is that there is a shark fin antenna and a traditional antenna with it. Additionally, the bootlid-integrated spoiler accentuates the sportiness. Also, the split-LED taillamps fill the tail section convincingly and they are connected via a chrome strip. The textured bumper completes the sporty profile with a dual exhaust setup. All in all, this is a slightly sportier version of what we might actually see.
Our View
Maruti Dzire is a household name in India having sold millions of units. The new generation model will share the fuel-efficient engine from the Swift. This is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. It is good for a decent 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. The manual transmission variant has a mileage of 24.8 km/l, while the automatic trim offers 25.75 km/l of fuel economy. That will be its biggest selling point along with the addition of modern tech, convenience and safety amenities. Let us keep an eye out for more details in times to come.
