Drag race competitions have become the new norm among YouTubers to test the performances of cars and bikes these days.

This drag race between Hero Xtreme 125R and Bajaj Pulsar NS125 is very interesting. It is not often that we come across such events in the 125-cc segment. That is what makes this race quite special. Hero Xtreme 125R is a relatively sporty bike despite being in this almost entry-level space. It has been an important product for the company for a while now. On the other hand, the Pulsar NS125 is a household name in our country. Let us take a look at the details of this latest case.

This video comes from UP65 RACERS on YouTube. The YouTuber has the two bikes on a highway. For the first round, he takes the Hero Xtreme 125R, while his companion rides the Bajaj Pulsar NS125. On the count of three, the two bikers accelerate as hard as they can. Initially, the two motorcycles remain neck-to-neck. However, after covering some distance, the Pulsar remained ahead while the Xtreme was hitting the limiter again and again. Using slip-streaming, the rider of the Xtreme was able to make up some ground. But it was not able to overtake the Pulsar. For the second round, they didn’t switch the rider but rode in the opposite direction without using slip-streaming. The result was the same. Hence, the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 emerged victorious.

The Hero Xtreme 125R comes with an advanced Sprint-EBT 125-cc air-cooled engine which generates a decent 11.4 hp and 10.5 Nm of peak power and torque. Performing the transmission duties is a 5-speed gearbox. It gets a robust Diamond frame, 37 mm telescopic front forks, and a 7-step pre-load adjustable monoshock rear suspension from Showa. It ranges from Rs 95,000 to Rs 99,500, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 has a 125cc 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve air-cooled BS6-compliant DTS-i EI engine which is good for 12 PS and 11 Nm. This engine pairs with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. It uses the perimeter frame. The front suspension adopts a telescopic type, while the rear features a 5-step mono shock. The retail price is Rs 1 lakh, ex-showroom. Therefore, the latter has a slight edge on paper.
