The affordable bus service connects dozens of cities across India with ticket prices starting at as low as Rs 99

Flixbus has commenced operations in India earlier this year with the highlight of offering tickets for as low as Rs 99. The aim is to transform and disrupt the market. For the uninitiated, Flixbus is a German company which has presence in over 42 countries across the globe. It recognized the value of making its presence in India. Note that India is the second-largest bus market on the planet. Hence, the chances of expansion and growth are huge. Unfortunately, the first accident of the Flixbus has surfaced. Here are the details.

Flixbus Meets with Accident

The details of this post emerge from honeiii__1 on Instagram. It captures a man making the video of the Flixbus which is crashed on the side of the road. Unfortunately, a lot of details about the crash are not out yet. Still, one could see the bus with a damaged from section. It has broken the side railings and ended up stopping on the grass on the side of the road. At present, Flixbus service is active in the northern part of India including Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Hence, this crash must have taken place on a route in this states.

At the launch of Flixbus in India, André Schwämmlein, CEO of Flix, said, “We are thrilled to expand FlixBus into India, marking our presence in our 43rd country and one of the largest bus markets globally. Our mission aligns perfectly with India’s pursuit of sustainable, safe, and affordable travel options for all.” Surya Khurana, Managing Director of FlixBus India, expressed, “We’re excited to introduce our services in India, offering safety, comfort, and cost-effective journeys. Our success hinges on collaboration with local operators, focusing on growth and efficiency while championing shared mobility to reduce congestion and emissions.”

Our View

Now, since the details of this case have not emerged yet, I believe we should not jump to any conclusions. Accidents can take place due to any number of reasons. Because this is a new bus service and company, it is being dragged on social media a bit more than usual. The company is reputed and has been service customers in over 42 countries for years now. Hence, we must ensure that we don’t jump to any conclusions by looking at an isolated incident.
