Dozens of Ola Electric Scooters Waiting To Be Serviced After Monsoon Rains

It is clear that the monsoon season was not favourable for most people who got entangled with dysfunctional automobiles.

In a rather shocking incident, numerous Ola electric scooters were seen waiting outside a service centre after the monsoon rains. Ola is among the most famous electric two-wheeler startups in the country. It, along with Ather, has popularized EVs in this space in our country. Now even the legacy carmakers are in the game. Still, Ola has created a huge name for itself in this space. However, customers have even raised concerns regarding the build quality and service of their EVs. Let us take a look at the details here.

Ola Electric Scooters Suffer in Monsoon Rains

The specifics of this case emerge from Laxman Yadav on YouTube. The host of this video is in his Tata Nexon EV. Clearly, he is an EV enthusiast. As per the information in the video, this incident took place somewhere in Rajasthan. As he was passing outside an Ola showroom, he witnessed dozens of electric scooters just parked outside. He mentions that these might be hundreds of EVs. Not only this, there is almost an equal number of electric scooters parked inside the service centre premises. Hence, no one can correctly guess how many scooters are actually present.

The host mentions that due to the torrential rains and flooding in the monsoon season, many electric scooters suffered malfunctions. In fact, he even goes on to say that the electric cars also suffered a similar fate where water-logging damaged the components. This is one aspect which buyers need to keep in mind before going for an electric car or two-wheeler. Water is an enemy of EVs even though auto companies claim that EVs are safe in water.

Our View

Now this is a surprising incident. However, I must mention that we can’t comment on such videos unless we are aware of the entire picture. There are always two sides to a story. Having said that, we know that the number of service centres to take care of increasingly selling Ola electric scooters needs improvement. We can only hope that Ola CEO Bhavish Agarwal takes cognizance of the matter and comes up with an appropriate solution. We shall keep an eye out for more details here.
