Suzuki Jimny is the successor of the iconic Maruti Gypsy which was used by the Indian Army back in the day.
This armoured Suzuki Jimny looks perfectly capable of being a part of the military special forces of any nation. Jimny is an iconic name among the international off-roading community. It has a rich legacy of over 5 decades. What I find specifically impressive is the fact that it has found applications in many countries across the globe. Initially used exclusively for World War ll, the company decided to offer it to the general public for rugged usage. Ever since the 1970s, civilians have been using it to fulfil their adventurous desires. Let us delve deep into the details of this latest case.
Armoured Suzuki Jimny For The Military
The details of this special Armoured Suzuki Jimny stem from the Facebook. The details of this special vehicle are so intricate that some internet users are calling it an AI-generated avatar. But another user in the comment section clarified that this iteration has been designed by French conversion specialists Technamm. They unveiled the FenneC 2 lightweight 4×4 patrol vehicle at the SOFINS 2023 expo. It took place in Bordeaux. The details are so professional that one can barely recognize the donor model.
At the front, it gets a rugged bumper and grille which protects the headlamp cluster and grille. However, everything behind the bonnet is military territory. The entire roof section has been removed and defense components have been installed. These include binoculars, a machine gun and a bunch of other weapons and artillery. It just gets two seats at the front but the rear section contains elements to make sure that this lightweight off-roading machine is able to travel to remote areas and possess enough ammunition to take down a small group of enemies. All in all, this has to be among the most hardcore military versions of the Jimny I have ever come across.
Our View
We know that the Maruti Gypsy was a part of the Indian Army back in the day. Its lightweight nature and immense off-roading capabilities were the main reasons why our soldiers opted for it. It could be easily flown away to remote parts of the country. This armoured Suzuki Jimny represents similar traits albeit with even more modern equipment. The fact that whole ammunition equipment can be installed in a tiny SUV and be taken around to just about any part of the world is a great advantage. It would be interesting to see if the production version of this Jimny makes it to an army arsenal of some nation.
