Torrential rains in the last few months have caused havoc in many parts of the country and this is a prime example of that.

Shocking visuals have appeared online where cars like the Tata Punch, Nexon and Altroz were seen flooded at the dealership stockyard. The last few weeks have been particularly horrific for people living in areas where heavy rainfall occurred. Each year, we see the monsoon rains causing floods in many parts of the country. As a result, there is widespread damage to life and property. Unfortunately, there is no concrete way of dealing with it. Let us take a look at the details of this latest instance.

Tata Punch, Nexon, Altroz Flooded

This video comes from RamaKrishna Grandhi on YouTube. The visuals capture the horrifying visuals of the entire stockyard from Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh. It is clear that the Tata Motors stockyard is submerged in water after heavy rains. The water levels are so high that the vehicles are covered up to the bonnet. New car models like the Punch, Nexon, Altroz, etc are seen getting affected by this phenomenon. Someone has gone inside the water to make a video of this entire saga.

This is particularly unfortunate since hundreds are cars are affected by the excessive rains. In fact, the video even captures the horns of some cars going off continuously. Clearly, there are electronic malfunctions in some cars. That is a natural consequence of a car being in water for long durations. We know that electronic architecture is not a friend of stagnant water. We see short circuits and malfunctioning of components due to water regularly. That is what’s happening here as well.

Our View

Now this is a misfortunate situation for any carmaker to be in. We can’t pass on any judgment based on these visuals as to how the Indian auto giant will fix this issue. Also, it is interesting to see how the other car companies deal with similar circumstances. I am sure that this issue would’ve plagued other car marques too. This is a nationwide problem. Hence, we shall have to wait to see how Tata Motors remedies this.
