Tata Nexon Hits Maruti Jimny – The Result Might Surprise You!
We keep coming across instances of crashes between different cars but the results can be surprising at times
In this latest incident, a Tata Nexon ends up hitting a Maruti Jimny from the back. Both these are popular SUVs. We know Tata Motors is renowned for being a carmaker that focuses on offering vehicles with high safety ratings at affordable prices. In fact, it created the wave of making people conscious about the safety ratings of cars before making a purchase decision. On the other hand, the largest carmaker in the country has never been too popular about the safety prowess of its cars. For now, let us take a look at the details of this case.
Tata Nexon Hits Maruti Jimny
The specifics of this case stem from the Raftaar 7811 channel on YouTube. The host mentions that this incident took place somewhere in Bihar. As per the information in this video, the Nexon collided with the Jimny from behind. However, what is surprising for everyone is the level of damage to these cars. Looking at the Jimny, you are barely able to find a minor dent in the tailgate. On the other hand, the front left section of the Nexon is damaged much more severely. In fact, the fog lamp, headlamp, bumper, bonnet and fender have sustained deformation.
That is quite surprising since Nexon is a 5-star safety-rated compact SUV. I believe we need to look deeply into this matter. The main aspect of this incident is the fact that the Nexon hit the Jimny at the spot where the spare tyre had been mounted. Therefore, it is possible that the tyre would’ve absorbed a lot of impact. Hence, the lightweight off-roader just incurred a minor dent. That is why it is advisable to not jump to conclusions based on isolated incidents.
My View
This is a perfect example to demonstrate how incidents can change the entire narrative on the internet. I think it is necessary to reflect upon what you see online and not come to conclusions straight away. Also, many people ascribe the safety prowess of a car to such real-life incidents. However, we must understand that NCAP takes into account various scenarios to test the effectiveness of the safety equipment of a car. It can’t simply be replicated via a regular incident. Therefore, we must not judge the safety rating of any car because of such accidents.
