It had showcased its highlights in the video clips in the last few days. However, at the launch ceremony, we got to know about the entire details of the EV in depth. MG Windsor EV vs Tata Nexon EV – Prices
The MG has priced the Windsor EV quite intelligently. The ex-showroom starting price of the electric CUV is just Rs 9.99 lakh. This is the price of the vehicle. MG is not charging the entire price of the battery in the beginning. For that, it offers a package of Rs 3.5 per km. Add to that a running cost of about Rs 1.25 per km and the total cost comes out to be around Rs 5 per km. Therefore, you just need to pay for your usage thereafter. Not only that, after 3 years of ownership, MG is offering a guaranteed buyback program which will allow you to get 60% of the initial cost back. On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV bears retail prices of 14.49 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Hence, MG’s creative pricing will surely entice a whole lot of people.

MG Windsor EV vs Tata Nexon EV – Design
In terms of the design, the Windsor EV is certainly a unique-looking product. In fact, it is certain to make the heads turn when you are out and about in it. At the front, it gets an LED light bar which runs the width of the EV. In fact, it bifurcates the top and bottom sections of the bonnet. This LED strip culminates into stylish LED DRLs located on the extreme edges of the bonnet. The main headlamp cluster is situated at the lower section of the bumper. Being an EV, the fascia is devoid of any radiator grilles. In the lower section of the bumper, one can see a stylized element to give it some character.
Apart from that, the front left fender houses the charging port. Also, the side section is relatively subtle, devoid of any curves and creases. One gets elegant aero alloy wheels with a silver finish on the side body panels. To accentuate the premium quotient of the EV, it gets flush-fitting door handles and black side pillars to offer that floating roof effect. At the rear, it gets connected LED taillamps with a sleek light bar connecting the lights. I particularly like the chrome belt running the entire body of the EV. Finally, the rear bumper holds a rugged cladding to inform a rugged stance. All in all, the MG Windsor EV will be unlike anything out on the Indian roads.
On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV is an immensely popular product. In its latest iteration, it offers an ultra-modern appearance with the latest design philosophy. At the front, it gets a full-width LED light bar on the bonnet which is neatly integrated into LED DRLs on either side. Apart from that, there is a distinct demarcation between the top and lower sections of the bumper. The LED headlamps are accommodated on the extreme edges of the bumper. At the bottom, there is a unique design pattern which lends an imposing presence to the EV. Moving down the sides reveals aero alloy wheels and a floating roof effect due to the black side pillars. At the rear, the Tata Nexon EV gets a shark fin antenna, connected LED taillamps, a sturdy skid plate and a sporty bumper with reflector and reverse lights on the edges.
Our View
Choosing between these two can be quite tricky, especially with the pricing of the MG Windsor EV. It would be a bit complicated to calculate the actual cost of owning the Windsor EV. I would suggest you sit down and estimate the kind of usage you will do with the EV. Once you know a ballpark figure about the monthly usage, you can calculate the running costs associated with the Windsor EV. Then, you can compare it to the Tata Nexon EV to make up your mind. Apart from that, the Windsor EV is a bigger car and comes with tons of modern equipment which is also the case with the Nexon EV. You should visit the nearest dealership to check out both cars in the flesh.
