MG Hector Crashes Inside Showroom, Biker Injured

Mishaps at showrooms are becoming increasingly popular as careless people often end up performing some totally stupid activity.

In a rather shocking incident, an MG Hector ended up crashing and breaking the showroom glass when a customer accidentally pressed the accelerator. This is, unfortunately, not the first time such an incident has surfaced. In fact, I have reported numerous such cases already. People who don’t know how to drive or are extremely amateur often sit in the driver’s seat while visiting showrooms before purchasing a new car. If the engine is switched on, things can spiral out of control very quickly. Let us take a look at the details of this case here.

MG Hector Crashes Inside Showroom

The details of this recent incident come from Prateek Singh on YouTube. It captures the visuals of the entire saga. It is the CCTV footage of the dealership premises. As per the information in the video, this incident took place somewhere in Karimnagar in Karnataka. It mentions that a potential customer was checking out the interior of the MG Hector SUV. They ended up sitting in the driver’s seat. Generally, the cars inside the showrooms are turned off. For some reason, that was not the case here.

The customer pressed the accelerator pedal and the SUV started speeding up. First, it hit the showroom glass and broke it completely. Perhaps the driver was new. Hence, they still didn’t apply the brakes and the vehicle reached the highway where it hit an unsuspecting biker. The host in the video mentions that the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries. Even the SUV was damaged. The video even informs that the insurance of the dealership will cover the expenses for the damage since the vehicle was still not purchased by the consumer. Further details about this entire incident are awaited.

Our View

I have reported such cases multiple times in the past. Still, similar incidents keep happening again and again. The practice of not allowing a vehicle to be switched on inside the showroom is extremely necessary. You can never be too sure about who is an experienced driver among the customers who walk in to see the cars. Therefore, if something goes wrong and the customer barely knows how to drive properly, things could take an ugly turn quickly. That is exactly what happened here and on many other occasions as well. Let us pledge to be responsible people and take active measures to make sure that we don’t sit in the driver’s seat if we don’t know how to drive.
