Digital artists often use the latest vehicles to demonstrate their creativity and this is a prime example of that.
An automobile artist has created a riveting rendition of the Mahindra Thar Roxx concept which reminds us slightly of the Land Rover Defender. Thar Roxx is the 5-door iteration of the regular Thar. It has been launched in the Indian market to address the issues of the 3-door Thar. This includes things like ingress and egress complications and a compact boot. The 5-door iteration was anticipated for a long time. Mahindra ensured that the wait is worth it as the Thar Roxx is not merely an elongated version of the smaller Thar but also encompasses new features, mechanicals and aesthetics. For now, let us delve deep into the specifics of this latest concept.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Concept with Land Rover Vibes
This post stems from vandi_bhrathanmar on Instagram. The first thing I noticed and appreciated was that this design doesn’t sway too far away from the original. At the front, the new grille on the Thar Roxx has been replaced by a more traditional 6-slat grille like on the regular Thar, the C-shaped LED DRLs around the LED headlamps remain the same, there is a new bumper with cut-outs from the sides for better off-roading dynamics, fog lamp and an auxiliary LED light bar on the roof to enhance visibility in the dark. On the sides, this Thar Roxx gets a few new elements to distinguish it from the original model.
This includes things like colossal wheel arches with matte black cladding which house ginormous new alloy wheels with high profile tyres. These ensure the utmost comfort during treacherous off-roading tracks. The silver-finished side steps enhance the ingress and egress traits of the SUV along with the addition of the second-row doors. Towards the third quarter of the Thar Roxx is where the Defender vibes become apparent with the compact ladder mounted on the quarter glass to climb atop the roof. At the rear, it gets C-shaped LED taillamps, a sturdy bumper and a black top compartment for that sporty appearance.
Our View
I love to witness routine vehicles in different avatars. Virtual illustrations allow us to do that. However, I appreciate artists who don’t go overboard with their execution. This latest Mahindra Thar Roxx concept looks like one could easily see this on the roads. The modifications are not extraordinary. Therefore, it feels like these can become a reality. I must also mention here that most car modifications are illegal in India. Hence, you must keep that in mind before heading to a car shop.
