The southern Indian state is facing one of its worst natural disaster situations with excessive rainfall and heavy landslide.

Kerala floods have been devastating this year and this latest case of a Mahindra Bolero rescuing the stranded people highlights the gravity of this incident. The massive landslide in Wayanad has claimed more than 158 lives already and hundreds are still buried under the heavy debris. Despite valiant efforts from the authorities, local population and defence forces, the death toll is bound to rise even more. The efforts are being made by the teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indian Army, and Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters. In total, 300 personnel have been a part of rescue operations.

Mahindra Bolero Rescues People Amidst Kerala Floods

This video clip comes from autojournal_india on Instagram. The visuals capture the horrifying state of affairs where the entire area has been inundated in water. We see a black Mahindra Bolero emerging from behind a building. Look closely and you will witness a bunch of people sitting on the roof of the rugged SUV. Needless to say, this is extremely dangerous since the road is totally invisible. The driver needs to drive extremely carefully. In fact, the people sitting on the roof are seen directing the driver for directions to get out of the locality and onto the road.

Mahindra Bolero is one of the toughest and most reliable SUVs from the Indian auto giant. It has been among Mahindra’s highest-selling products in India ever. People use it for all sorts of applications across various parts of the country. This includes things like carrying numerous people around, loading up tons of luggage or reaching places which are hard to reach for ‘regular’ cars due to their sturdy nature. People are resorting to extreme measures to save the lives of their fellow residents. This is a heart-breaking scenario but the resilience of people is commendable.

Our View

In tough times like this, it is critical to stand by the affected people. It is encouraging to see people helping each other out in any way they can. That is the only way out to survive in such extreme conditions. Our hearts go out to the families who have lost their loved ones and their homes. These are extraordinary instances which remind us of the wrath of nature. Let us pray to appease the Gods and hope that this destruction stops.
