The mid-size SUV is one of the most popular products in our market for a very long time and the demand has been particularly high since the arrival of the latest version.

The Hyundai Creta achieves the title of the largest selling car in India in July 2024. That is a mighty impressive feat amidst the ever-increasing competition in our market. Creta belongs to the mid-size SUV segment which is a rapidly burgeoning space. In fact, most carmakers offer their products in this category. That makes this milestone even more remarkable. Creta recently received an upgrade and the current model comes with the latest tech, safety, connectivity and convenience amenities to pamper the users. Last month, Hyundai sold 17,350 units of the Creta. That is higher than any other car. In comparison, this number was just 14,062 in June. Let us take a look at the main points for the unmatched success of the Hyundai Creta.

Hyundai Creta is India’s Largest Selling Car

Powerful Petrol and Diesel Engines

Hyundai Creta is one of those few SUVs in this segment which is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. In comparison, rivals like the VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Renault Basalt and Citroen C3 Aircross just come with petrol mills. Hence, the Korean giant has a huge advantage. Apart from that, the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine is the most powerful mill in its class. It generates an exciting 160 PS and 253 Nm of peak power and torque. Therefore, that is a huge point which goes in its favour.

High Mileage

Despite being a mid-size SUV, the Hyundai Creta offers decent mileage in all variants. To be precise, the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine offers 17.4 km/l in manual and 17.7 km/l in automatic, the 1.5-litre diesel boasts a healthy 21.8 km/l in manual and 19.1 km/l in automatic and the 1.5-litre turbo petrol has a fuel economy of 18.4 km/l in automatic. Hence, all these figures are decent.

Modern Features

The major attraction of Hyundai cars has always been their feature-rich cabin and Hyundai Creta is no different. Some of the latest features include Level 2 ADAS Active Safety – Hyundai SmartSense with 19 features, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Ventilated Front Seats, 8-way Powered Driver’s Seat, 360-degree Camera, Blind Spot Monitoring, Panoramic Sunroof, 10.25-inch Connected Superscreen Infotainment Screen and much more. Hence, the buyers are always pampered.

Hyundai’s Sales and Service Network

Hyundai has been the second-largest carmaker in the country for a long time now. Over the years, it has managed to establish a dense sales and service network. As a result, the buyers get peace of mind by knowing that a Hyundai touchpoint is just around the corner. Hence, to purchase a new vehicle or get it serviced, you can rely on the availability of a service centre in most parts of the country.

Strong Resales

The resale value of a car depends on how strong the brand is. Obviously, the car itself has to be desirable. But the reliability comes from knowing that the used car won’t have too many troubles. Even if it does, the availability of spare parts and servicing won’t be a problem. That is the brand power of Hyundai as a carmaker and Creta as a product. All these factors make the Hyundai Creta the largest selling car in the country.
